Hello! I was hoping to get some insight into how in demand Spanish and German teaching jobs might be. I am currently licensed in K-12 German and Spanish in Wisconsin, and next year (when I would first try applying) I will have 3 1/2 years of experience. I would be interested in teaching either or both languages with DoDEA. Does anyone have an idea of how in demand these jobs are? Are there typically some openings each year, or are there rarely positions available? Thank you for your help!
HelpOthers Being certified in two languages will be a benefit, but it is hard to say how many they will be hiring.

haha Speaking generally, both positions will be relatively few in number every year (both there are usually some openings). It is hard to estimate actual numbers since we don't ever see vacancy lists. There have been at least one and sometime 1.5 Spanish teachers at my high schools in Europe and Japan. I know of high schools in Germany that had 1.5 or 2...See More

witeacher Thank you for your insight! I have two Bachelor's degrees (in Spanish Education and German Education) so I took over 30 credit hours of 300 level or higher courses in each language in college.
