Obviously DODEA doesn't specify an age limit for new hires. I'm wondering though if there is a de facto age limit, albeit perhaps not de jure? Have you guys who are working with DODEA noticed that there are no older teachers hired? (By that I would mean over 50 and also hired as teachers not as admin? Thanks for your insights.
haha Age does not seem to be a major factor with DoDEA. I wasn't hired until I was almost 50 and have since seen many people hired around the same age or even older.

I don't have as much first hand knowledge with admin types but have also seen a fair few starting their DoDEA career relatively late in life.

haha It is one of the nice things about DoDEA. The cost of hiring a more experienced teacher is not apparently an issue, as it can be in many districts and int'l schools.

And, DoDEA principals are used to teachers having a career (or half a career) as a teacher in the states before joining DoDEA.
