Sorry to be a newbie...but if we did get an overseas position:
1) Can you bring anything? Do they offer some kind of a storage pod that you can fill and they will deliver?
2) Can you bring a car? Will they ship it?
3) Is base living free, including all utilities?
4) We are a family of 4. Is base living houses or apartments?
5) If we lived off base, does the allowance cover all rent and utilities?
6) Will the military fly you home yearly in the summer to visit family? Could we stay in the states for a month or so, visiting family?
7) Is there anything else I'm forgetting?

@icanread can took explain a taxable move? Every time we've moved somewhere we've gotten a tax break for the move!

You must not have moved since the new tax law went into effect. No more write offs and the benefit to the employee (cost to the employer) is now taxable.

Agree with what has been shared. Adding that it can be even more difficult to be hired for Europe only.
