I know these things have been discussed on here somewhere before, but need some advice please. I opened an EAS Application several years ago, but this year we've gotten very serious about pursuing DoDDs overseas employment, so I updated my application, made sure to have checked ALL overseas locations. What I missed however, was that years ago when I started this all, I forgot that I checked several In-state locations as well, so I just noticed my first referral come in and it's for an in-state location. We are not interested in anything but DoDDs overseas now. I just went and unchecked all of the in-state locations now except for the one I got the referral to. (I don't want to jeopardize anything until I have better information). So the questions are: Can I uncheck that box if I got a referral notice? Will it damage being eligible for overseas DoDDs jobs? If I got an interview/offer and turn it down, will it damage the overseas eligibility? (I'm thinking so) Would love some advice. Tha...See More
haha Unchecking should not negatively impact your candidacy at all. Also, turning down an interview (should be one be on offer) should not hurt your future prospects.

The only consequences of any kind seem to be if you take an interview, get an offer and THEN turn it down, you would be frozen out of any further recruiting for that hiring season...See More

HelpOthers Agreed. If you receive any interview requests, just let them know you no longer want to go stateside and have updated your application.
