Yes, credit cards come in very handy during the process of waiting for reimbursement. :D

I had to spend my own money to pay for the credit card bills that had accumulated from being in billeting, meals, and my car. It took about six weeks for me to finally get my advance pay and TQSA reimbursements.

Also, when I filed my travel voucher, my paycheck was deducted $600 for taxes. This does not include the cost of moving, which I am still bracing myself for.... Things have changed this past year, so previous experiences may not apply. Once again, I am hoping Congress resolves this issue soon.

..and just for the record, my travel voucher only included my flight to Asia and meals for that day.

Yes, you have always had to pay your own credit card bills until the advance/reimbursement kicks in. 6 weeks is on the longer end of the spectrum. Our new hires this year ranged from two to 3 weeks. Sorry your experience was worse.
