I don't know if the vacancy is still available, but EFMP in Yokota Japan was trying to hire an SLP at the end of last school-year.

I'm not sure what role an SLP would play in EFMP. I'm the EFMP medical coordinator at my location. EFMP doesn't provide services in that way. Medical is identification, enrollment, family member travel screenings, managing EFMP cases Family Support provides community resources, support groups, education outreach and non clinical case management. Hi @Mary and @Cmc - i was wondering if EFMP is the same as EDIS? Also, I have heard that EI for Japan proper is technically under the Navy regardless of the base. How does this work for hiring?

@SLPnyc they are different. EDIS is Educational Developmental Interventional Services. They provide early intervention for children birth to three. They offer PT, OT, ST, psychology, social work, and special education. They also provide related services in DODEA schools. EFMP is the exceptional family member program. When I said EFMP, I actually meant EDIS. I mis-typed. I believe EDIS was looking for an SLP at the end of last school-year. Check USA Jobs.
