Random question..... when you first arrive overseas, I'm assuming you rent a car until yours arrives. Is this right? Anyone in Germany and can answer this?

Yes, we did. Many/most bases have car rental on base. Just double check what you need these days to rent a car (what type of license). You generally will not be able to buy a car until you have your German/USAREUR license.

Angela- yes you can rent a car until yours arrives. There are a couple of places on base to rent from as well as many but the economy.
