Hi. I'm new and have a few questions. I've had since the end of June 6 referrals. I finally got a call for an interview (state side). They called references right after my interview. Should I take this as a good sign or do they call references on everyone? Also, how long does the process take being state side, as they've already started school at the site. Thanks.

jacbatch When I got an offer stateside, they had called my references right after the interview also. It took two weeks to get a tentative offer. I have heard different experiences in regards to the length of the whole process. Good luck!

Teacher 4 Life Just wondering ... Do they do the background checks before or after a tenative offer...also, once you receive a tenative offer is the time period long before a final offer?

Icanread The background check generally happens after the tentative offer. Once you have cleared the background check, then you should receive your final offer.

HelpOthers When you have been chosen for an interview, you are already in a small minority. They usually scan the applications and narrow down the interviews to a small number and choose from those who interviewed. They may have checked all references, or may have only checked the one or two they were considering for the position. If you see your application ...See More

HelpOthers They do not pay for your move, and can often start you with a line-of-sight background check while awaiting a full background check. So it may just be however long it takes you to get yourself moved there.
