I am a current DoDDS teacher, but my husband's non-government job is relocating to Europe and we currently live in Asia where I am the sponsor. My understanding is that I can only pick up a job elsewhere in the transfer round, correct? I've had 2 HR reps tell me to update my EAS application to be considered for internal vacancies, but the application clearly states that current DoDDS teachers can NOT use EAS to apply for internal vacancies. Is there really no other way to relocate? I would even be willing to move myself if I could.

HelpOthers As I understand it, you cannot relocate from overseas to overseas outside of the transfer round or being excessed. However, you may be able to take leave without pay and apply as a local hire from the new position.- talk to HR. If you do this, you will lose your LQA benefits. Another suggestion is to apply for ISS positions or admin positions- anyt...See More
