Do we have to get housing approval from the housing office to get our LQA allowance? Getting so many mixed answers, thought I would ask here. Thank you!
haha No, generally the housing office on base/post should have nothing to do with your actual LQA (approving it, determining the amount, etc.).

Loveteaching @Haha Thank you for the info! Is it a problem if you choose more space than your family size would require just because you have extended family that will visit often? I just want to make sure that that won't be an issue.

haha I believe that you have some wiggle room there as long as you realize that your LQA may not fully cover the larger place (and are choosing/able to live off base).

Snow Lane The size of the place doesn't matter, just the cost. We live in a five bedroom enormous home and it's just me and my husband. Even then, we're well below our LQA.
