Hi all,

Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.

I am wondering what my chances are in attaining a full-time teaching position as a local hire if I join my partner in Okinawa.

Emelia Thank you for your insight and quick response. Do you happen to know if you need Command Sponsorship to become a substitute, or is SOFA status sufficient?

HelpOthers When married, the orders can be updated. You can only get SOFA status if you are on orders. You can only stay 90 days on visitor visa without orders. If trying to be hired as local hire, I suggest requesting the orders be amended.
