Is it easier to get a position stateside first and then try and transfer overseas and if so, how is that accomplished?

If you do get a job stateside, most of the time they will not pay for your relocation correct?

Will they pay for housing or COLA?

How do they break down the pay scale for each location stateside or is it computed by degrees and endorsements one may have ?

Sorry about all the questions, I am debating on whether or not I should select some stateside locations along with the overseas locations I have selected.
haha Opinions and experiences vary wildly. Some people have had success with joining stateside and then getting hired for overseas DoDEA. Others, not so much. Teachin You also have to consider that if you already have 10 years of non fed teaching experience, every year you are working outside of the system doesn't count toward pay inside. So, by taking a domestic position now you would bank years of experience if you did get picked up for a foreign post in the future.

HelpOthers I agree with both haha and BusinessShan.

If you have Veteren's preference, it only helps to get into an organization, so you may not want to use it to get in Stateside if your true desire is to go overseas.
