Hello,

I'm currently an undergraduate student majoring in early childhood education and I'm thinking about becoming a DoDDS teacher overseas. I have a couple questions. (1) How do exemptions work in the over all hiring process in Dodea? For example, if you have an endorsement for special ed, how is it taken into consideration?

(2) Are you required to be a licensed teacher or who is exempt? As I expect be a soon-to-be newly minted teacher, I would have very little work experience to present on my resume, how is this viewed by HR?

haha Everyone has a different story but without access to the actual hiring data, no one really knows how things stand, or why. All you can do is try and maximize your certifications, get some experience and hope for the best. An element of luck will always play a part in why some people are hired and some are not. MsU You are probably qualified for a TA position in prek or prek sped or for a teacher position in a daycare on a base. If you live near a base that's where I would start! Those are posted on USAjobs

Lindsey @kyjan I only selected countries where I would be comfortable living and took the first job offer. I wouldn't pass up on an offer because on the tentative offer it states that if turn down this offer you are no longer qualified for the any position for the rest of the school year.
