Bummer. My condolences. With two years in a row, of excess you would hope that you would get a little more input in where they send you.

So, the trick used to be to get as many certa as you can, in order to get picked up for a transfer. Now it seems like it pits people in a worst position. This really sucks.

It's always been a double-edged sword. Helps you to get hired, get transfers, etc., but means you can be asked to teach anything on your certificate.

Yep! The only person I know who was transferred out of my area last year was a teacher who had very few certs. So they had to find a job for her elsewhere. I have tons of certs and can be placed at pretty much any school- which will work to my disadvantage if I am excessed again this year.
