For the ESE teachers with the DoDEA,

1) Do you teach students in a self-contained class? Or is it push-ins and pullouts?

2) If you get hired as an ESE teacher, is your role switch to a general teacher or a classroom teacher, if there was a shortage?

3) What is a normal caseload?

4) I notice a job posting for an EBD middle school teacher, is it a difficult environment to work in, as the public schools in the state?

5) If you are overseas, do you have to work in the summer?
haha 1. Yes and Yes. It will depend on the age, level of impairment, school, year to year, etc. At the MS and Secondary level we have Learning Strategies class which most students take as an elective (which is basically a resource room class). Self-contained classes are more for moderate to severe students and are offered at many, but not all locations....See More
