When I started looking at DODEA teaching jobs, the teacher scale had a lot of different education levels, the top 2 being an Ed.Spec. and then a Doctorate. Now, when I look at the current scales, it just has numbers instead of education levels (like 17 or 18). My question is: are the numbers for the same thing? Are the top 2 scales still an Ed.Spec. and a doctorate?
RJ You were looking at two different scales. DDESS includes numbers for each category and includes EDS. DoDDS has letters for each category and does not include EDS. Both scales end at the doctorate level.

Missamy I was confused by the numbers too. @RJ what does DDESS and EDS mean? I have seven years of teaching experience and a master's degree. What *number* would I start at?

haha DDESS is the old term DoDEA stateside schools. It used to be DDESS for stateside and DoDDS for overseas. Now, we are all DoDEA. Stateside is DoDEA Americas, overseas is DoDEA Pacific and/or Europe.
