Out of curiosity, if you are hired with DODEA, how do you renew your certificate? I know as of now I have to have my school board sign off and send in the paperwork. Do you renew in the state that you originally got it in? Is it different?
Icanread In DoDEA, you submit paperwork after your first 2 years to renew, then after 4 years, then every 6 years after that. You do not need recert hours for the 1st 2 years, but after that you need credit hours to renew. In order to keep your certification, you must remain a DoDEA employee. Once you leave, your certification is no longer valid.

haha Agree. Many DoDEA teachers let their state cert lapse. You are not required to maintain a state cert per se, but if you used a state cert to reduce the required credits for DoDEA qualification then I guess it could come back to haunt you if your credentials were every audited.
