So I got a referral for a place that is literally last on my list. I am fine if this year isn't my year. Am I better off responding to the referral with a no thank you or waiting to see if I get an interview and then responding no thank you to the interview. I have to say...I got soooo excited when I saw that referral come in!!!

SanDiegoTeacher Do you mind if I ask how them email heading came in? I worry so much that a referral will go to my spam. Does is say referral in the subject line?

teachandtravel @SanDiegoTeacher I had the same question for awhile. The subject is "EAS Application - Placed on a Referral List" and it did not go to my spam folder (surprisingly).

haha @oldshack: Yes, there are always trade offs to consider. On the upside, you could list Italy and just turn down any interview requests for Naples, without any penalty (in theory). We did travel to/through Vincenza while posted in Europe and it was a pretty amazing area.

oldshack @haha this is true, the "in theory" part makes me nervous, but I would be ok with the other Italy locations. My wife and I both would really like Aviano, but that school is small and referrals are probably rare.

Couple of Questions LOL, we're in Naples, Italy. It is not located in the big city. Also, at least to me, the base is small. I'm prior Air Force, this is a Navy base. If you went to the top of the hotel, you could look around and see the whole thing. I guess I'm just used to big Air Force bases.
