I have qualifications for 6-12 ELA, plus humanities, speech, journalism and AVID. However, I see that if I take three drama courses, I can also add drama.

This late in the game, is it even possible to get those complete before hiring season tapers off towards the end of the summer?I found three different classes at two different schools, but they won't be complete until the end of June, and I'm wondering if the investment is worth the rush, or if I should just focus on what I have. Basically, should I take the drama courses throughout the next year if I'm not offered a referral/position.

TYIA! :)
haha It is obviously impossible to predict what will pay off for anyone when it comes to getting into DoDEA. That being said, of the certs you currently have, ELA and AVID are the ones that I have seen most frequently taught in DoDEA schools. The others are possible, but not in every school and possibly less likely since they increased student to teache...See More

teachandtravel It couldn't hurt to have right? I had the same mindset before starting my master's program last week, but whether I'm hired by DoDEA or not it's still something that will help me in this field. Also, even if you take the course and don't get hired this year, it could help next year possibly. That's how I look at it.

MsU I've been wondering the same thing. I'm very close to two additional certs but I don't think I really have enough time to get them for this year. So I think I'm going to see how this year goes and then work on them over the course of next year if I do not get a DOD position.
