This is my first time applying for the DoDEA also. However, I started researching the job requirements last year. Also, at the time, I only had 4 education courses (which is 12 credits) and was certified in 1 subject area, special education with an endorsement in autism spectrum disorder. So, I knew I didn't qualify for anything. As a result, I acted fast to meet the DoDEA's requirements for the 2020-2021 school year. I went as far as to taking the 2019-2020 academic year off from teaching to meet the requirements. Yes, it was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take.

I enrolled in a Master's in Elementary Education program that taught all the methods classes, and I took several early childhood education and special education courses on the side, at other schools. Plus, a few ESOL courses. In addition to that, I got certified in 6 additional subject areas.

So, far in less than a year, because I started my journey in June 2019, I have earned the following:
