When we get that email that says, "your name is on the referral list with other qualified candidates," I'm assuming that is a list names sent to the principal of the school that has the vacancy. Does anyone know if the names on the referral list are rank ordered in some manner, or just a random set of names? How many names are usually on the referral list? I guess from the names on the referral list, the principal would select a few whom he/she deems best qualified and call those for interviews? Does that sound about the process? Thanks.

IbeforeE @SnowLane I was always curious about the points system and ranking applicants. what would put someone higher/more competitive than a veteran? How would he/she rank higher (year of experience, spouse)? TIA!

Cmc Not sure how accurate that info is in regards to veterans. I am a veteran (regular 5 point) and was not hired the candidate who was hired was not a veteran.

Snow Lane I still don't know how they score or rank people. I don't mean that the veteran ranks higher (though they do) just that no one below the veteran can be offered the position without offering it to the veteran. If a veteran is the 25th person on the list, everyone above them can be offered it first. I've been told this by two different administrators...See More
