Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

I received a USA Jobs referral for an AP job in Korea, but I was under the impression most of those jobs go to teachers already in the system. I'm currently working in an instructional coaching role, but I was wondering about the typical pool of admin applicants. Are they typically DODD teachers or applicants who are already APs/Principals in the US?
Ida I think it is a mix. Because when they send out the bios for principals some have been with Dodea for years and some not so long. I think it really just depends.

LolaTeach It's all based in qualifications, if you have the experience and credentials you have a good shot. Disabled veterans, veterans, and spouses have priority. Depending on the job posting an internal (excepted) applicant would have priority over someone new to the system.

haha Agree. We don't generally have access to statistics but based on admin I know/know of, there is a mix of people who taught with DoDEA, were admin in the states or even taught in the states and their first AP job was with DoDEA.

RJ I hate to say it, but it's also based on who you know. Like with teaching jobs, some positions are already spoken for before they are even advertised. They go through the motions and THAT person is hired.
