I think it is a mix. Because when they send out the bios for principals some have been with Dodea for years and some not so long. I think it really just depends.

It's all based in qualifications, if you have the experience and credentials you have a good shot. Disabled veterans, veterans, and spouses have priority. Depending on the job posting an internal (excepted) applicant would have priority over someone new to the system.

Agree. We don't generally have access to statistics but based on admin I know/know of, there is a mix of people who taught with DoDEA, were admin in the states or even taught in the states and their first AP job was with DoDEA.

I hate to say it, but it's also based on who you know. Like with teaching jobs, some positions are already spoken for before they are even advertised. They go through the motions and THAT person is hired.
