Got that right. Both schools I have worked at, the positions were spoken for before the rest of us, even though we worked at the school, even knew there would be an opening. There is definitely a level of unfairness that no one talks about.

True, filling specialist positions, class/subject assignments, awarding EDC's, etc. can all have an element of favoritism/unfairness, or at least the appearance of it.

We've been told to put in our "intent" letter as soon as possible so that admin knows what position you are interested in. I agree that these positions are filled first internally, but that's also with all positions. I thought positions are posted first in complex, then district, and local, before going to EAS, right?

Surprisingly or not, this also depends on politics. This is what is supposed to happen. But it does not always happen that way.

Interesting... lol I just thought about what it entailed. I think a referral list went out for it because my quals were reviewed for it. However, they said it was missing a class.
