So are the referrals sent out by ranking?

I'm just trying to gain a consensus of what moves one on a referral list. Is there really an algorithm system used to rank applicant based on references, degrees, etc I'm just curios because I've seen someone post on here that they had the same degrees/experience as a friend, but they received different referrals for the same type of position.

I've also seen a lot of SPED referrals get sent out to some recently, but there are also some who have a SPED cert as well, but they haven't had a referral/interview in 2-3 yrs.

Icanread If an applicant is not updating their application on an annual basis and ensuring that they are re-uploading all of their documents at least once a year, it would prevent them from receiving referrals, which could explain why some people who are qualified aren't getting referrals.

ecd5 Actually, you can call HR and they can explain the ranking of the referral list. If I remember correctly, veterans are at the top.

IbeforeE So the ranking is done at HR and then send in that order to principal? He/she doesn't have to abide by HR's order —- who would ever know, right ? (Since principal has final say.) Basically what I'm asking is is there any checks and balances to the "system" of preferences (vet,spouse etc)

ecd5 @IbeforeE I'm not sure about the specifics, but I'd imagine since there is veteran's preference those candidates would at least be offered an interview first. I'm not sure that HR ranks anyone. I'd imagine that it's computer generated based on your EAS application.
