@elle emme So question: I have emailed principals, but have not emailed office staff. Should I go back and also email office staff And asked to be made aware when there's an opening or would I come off too pushy?

My experience is from a long, long time ago, but I was a local hire. I was hired three days before school started. Honestly.... I've seen local hires with little to NO experience get hired while extremely qualified and exemplary teacher friends of mine in the states with experience, don't even make referral lists. The odds are stacked against CONUS hires in most locations. I've seen local hires not be able to hack it and quit, leaving classrooms with subs.
