I have a question regarding LQA allowances for off-base housing. There is a chance that my dependents will not travel with me initially due to the quarantines in country. We are headed to Oki and there is a 14 day quarantine in Tokyo followed by a 14 day quarantine in Oki. Would I be able to travel ahead and secure off-base housing with the full LQA allowance if my dependents are not there yet? I know with on-base housing that dependents have to be present to qualify. Thanks!

HelpOthers If you can get the travel office to send you from Seattle on a military flight to Yokota that goes directly to Oki without disembarking your can avoid the two weeks in Tokyo.

Teach8311 The rotators are all booked this summer, so we can't take the PE into Oki. More importantly, we can't PCS until the travel restrictions are lifted, so we are stuck waiting for that to happen. We are nervous this could be a long wait. Any idea if teachers can get an Exception to Policy letter to PCS?

IsItFriday? Same advice as two minutes ago - ask for a waiver.

But some of this is premature.

The travel restrictions are for today. You are not traveling today. You don't need to travel until around August 01. The restrictions may have changed, and/or it may be easier to get a waiver.
