You can use an airbnb, (at least I have in the past, and it was fine). But when you submit a receipt for TQSA, you need a daily breakdown of the cost. So you can't submit a receipt for $700 for 7 days. It needs to say, Monday 6/15/20- $100, Tuesday 6/16/20 -$100, etc... I used an airbnb, but couldn't get the breakdown on the receipt. Yes Frank is absolutely correct and the receipt needs to show a $0 balance. In other words, it needs to show that you paid the bill.

IsItFriday? I was not on a random PCS page. It was a PCS symposium hosted by the garrison on their official Facebook page. They had representatives from various base organizations to answer our questions so I wouldn't necessarily say it was worthless.

@bem, That is correct for TDY, so likely true for RAT. Any time you don't go with the recommended lodging, the maximum approved amount for reimbursement purposes is the approved amount for that approved lodging. So, you could do it instead of the approved lodging, but would recommend the price be the same or lower per night.
