Thanks everyone. This really is a sticky situation. I contacted the principal at my "dream job" and was told that I was selected. I am starting to think that there was a mix up at HR. I did contact HR in the hopes to get things sorted out before I lose any opportunity.

@Chris- The principal only recommends candidates. They would have no control if HR actually picked you or not.

HR will only allow one offer. It sound like the non-dream job beat the dream-job to the offer.

Sounds like a typo in your tentative offer. Maybe HR copied and pasted and forgot to update the location/position?

I accepted a position and received my official offer and then was offered another position that I interviewed months before. I called HR and they told me I got to choose which position I wanted. Wait to get your response from HR before making your decision if time allows.
