I wish there was a search feature because I'm sure that this has been asked before.

If my retired mother moves with my husband and two children OCONUS would she be included in our LQA? She will retire from teaching next year and was considering moving in with us. I just want to know how that would impact a future dodea position. Thanks!

Why not? Because she's not your dependent, that's why.

Jaycesmomma I am actually going through this process right now and from what you wrote, no she won't. She is retired and probably has enough income to take cover over half of her expenses, correct? Is it Friday hit it on the nose.

Dali Ah okay - I read some other posts discussing size of household and wasn't sure how "household" was defined/what are the rules (I haven't seen the paperwork). Good to know that she could stay with us - just needs to follow regular visa rules for the country - Thanks everyone for the info!
