how long is probationary period and does it vary (spouse, local hire, veteran's preference, etc . . .)?

The standard answer for stateside hires is two years of provisional service before you are considered "permanent".

2cats @haha do you have to do another probationary period if you were dodea for 4 years, left for 1 year, and are now returning for an overseas position? TiA

HelpOthers My understanding is that you are only required to do two probationary years for DoDEA regardless of whether it was US or Foreign country. However, if there is a gap in service, this may be different.
