Unlike my previous two DoDEA services, the current service does not allow me to pick and choose flights from America to Japan. The only way to avoid a 28 day CoVID quarantine is to fly into an American military airport in Japan. Then, I must only endure a 14 day quarantine on base, but I will not be allowed to leave my base hotel room until the 15th day.
My Travel Orders are still being prepared.

Interesting. If fully vaccinated, we are allowed free run of base during "quarantine" (and if living/confined off base, we can drive straight to base and use all facilities).

I just PCSed to Sasebo, and I did not have to ROM for 28 days... I didn't realize that bases had such drastically different policies. I flew commercial into Tokyo (self procured my own ticket) "working ROMed" (previously mentioned free roaming on base) for only 7 days as they changed the policy from 14 days ROM to 7 days last week, flew commercial ...See More
