I ❤ sped I just spoke to HR. Only the sponsor needs to get a TB test and any sponsors over 40 need an EKG.

I got a tentative offer last week and I signed and turned in all of the paperwork HR emailed me. I'm still waiting on a professional evaluation to be completed by my former principal (who happens to be in Germany), and it's been a very stressful process to track him down and try to contact him. SandArt Congratulations! I have read that some people here got the firm offer within a couple of weeks, but the time from tentative to firm offer for me was almost 6 weeks.

Nana B My new principal was adamant that she hear from my current admin. She wouldn't make the tentative offer until she was able to read and email or hear from her.

Bett Okay, got the full eye exam completed yesterday --- just in case it's needed. The doctor asked if I was going to be a driver or something for all these vision tests. I submitted my firm offer paperwork and got confirmation that it was received, though not necessarily that it was all correct.

So my question for everyone is, what comes next? What is the next "milestone" in this process?

Hi,

I just realized our daughter's passport expired in April. Should I take it and rush for a new one or do we have time for regular processing if we tell them we renewed. Can't believe I missed that this Spring.

Scholar Each passport location can give you an estimate. Ours took only 2 weeks although I think they say estimate 6weeks. You will travel on your official passport so the travel one isn't necessary until you take your first vacation.

HelpOthers Personally, I would go ahead and renew it and expedite it to make sure you get it back in three weeks. However, Scholar is correct. You will use the official passport to travel to your new country.

HelpOthers I suggest immediately updating your EAS to the locations within commuting distance of your husband's new position. If you are hired within a certain timeline of him arriving in his new position, you are considered a CONUS hire. If not, you may still get something as a local hire. They have to consider local hires before interviewing others.

Snow Lane My situation is different in that I actually haven't been working since December, so no job to quit, though I would have not renewed my contract for next year if I had been. I figured my background check would come back clean. :)

angel I don't know Daegu but I was watching a video of someone living in South Korea who said they wish they had left their car. Though they still used it, the streets were narrow so it was hard to maneuver the vehicle. Hopefully someone that actually lives there will respond.
