Do Admin pay scales work the same as teacher pay scales? For example, if I have two years admin experience would I get credit for that experience if I took an admin job with DODEA?
Also, is there LQA or COLA for Quantico, VA since its in the states?
Sorry to be so vague. If you ...See MoreAD is generally for the Americas, so I'm not really sure about it. I t think AD would be the scale, which could be different, depending on the position (as opposed to TP for overseas DoDEA).
I think all of the other factors you are asking about could also vary by position/type, school-based, ISS, etc.
Sorry to be so vague. If you have a specific position, job ad, etc., maybe we could be more useful.
Hope you all are doing well. I have my first interview tomorrow after being referred all year and now I've finally accepted an interview but I am nervous.
Anyone have experience with the secondary campus on the Osan base in South Korea? Any general tips for DODEA interviews?
wandererI remember that 10 days after my interview for a job in Germany, I called DoDEA to learn that the position was filled and I was so sad. Then at 14 days, I got the email! The position was filled...but by me! and the DoDEA staffer didn't tell me when I called and gave my name.
Running into stumbling blocks obtaining a Government issued passport. I was told to go to the local base, however, they cannot help me. I have sent a message to the specialist that handles Passports/Visa, but just curious if anyone has gone through this...and how it was handled.
If I am applying for positions, should I go ahead and have my previous employers complete the Employment Verification Form OMB No. 0704-0370 prior to getting a referral or interview? Or is it okay to wait?
hahaAgree. You are better off taking the time now to get someone to complete it (and complete it correctly). That way if there is a problem, you have the time/energy to to get it fixed without a million other things going on/needing your attention.
Looking for info on Fort Buchanan (PR). Just curious about on base + off base housing, good/safe neighborhoods to live, cost of living... I think it's considered CONUS, so no LQA. Do they PCS? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
For those of you who are employees overseas: Where are you located and what do you love and dislike about your location?? Do you prefer it over the USA, how is it going with covid, and are you wanting to stay long term?
HelpOthersWe love Japan. I lived in Ankara, Turkey as a 9th-10th grader and LOVED it. However, the political culture has changed considerably and I think teachers are not permitted to bring dependent children now. My family lived in Madrid Spain when I was a toddler and LOVED it, but I have heard that the DoDEA location is rather isolated.
