Component 2 Discussion

C4 and all its intricacies has gotten a lot of attention lately, and rightly so. It's a biggie! However, we can't neglect Components 2 and 3.

For today, let's talk about C2. This component is all about differentiation. You use student work samples to show how you meet the different needs in your classroom. MOST certificate areas ask you to choose 2 students to feature, although some ask for just one (Literacy and ENS, I believe - but check YOUR directions!). You need to choose students whose needs are DIFFERENT so that you an showcase the scope of your ability to differentiate.

Most certificates focus on writing of some type, but some focus on activities and/or projects ( math, science, and CTE come to mind) - so again check YOUR instructions. C2 is the component where the directions are DIFFERENT for each certificate area ( C3 and 4 have the same instructions for everyone).
