Look, chat boards are for voicing opinions and in some cases stating a point or arguing your case. But the last 20-30 posts have NOT been useful or professional on any level. We are all bigger and better than this. Deleting a quiz. Lets face it. There are multiple ways to think logically about that. Comparing it to drinking a driving is a little dramatic, but you still make a premise about proper decision making. No need to attack each other on it. Lets have enough respect for fellow teachers to at least respect their opinons.

Ima, you've posted here many times and I agree with a lot of what you said over the years. But I do not agree with everything. As for deleting a test. I do not agree you should be deleting tests. But I do not need to ridicule you for your opinion. Can I see 1-3 do-overs a year per student? Yeah probably. But if I am seeing 1-3 a week or a month, then they are cheating the program. Ima has taken above and beyond ridicule from a handful of devout AR haters or trolls personally through her e-mail and here on the chatboard. Many of the posts have been removed but not before doing damage to the most helpful and most trained person on this board. Ima has been a positive person in getting proper information to people really needing it. She volunteers her time to assist people in using AR to its utmost benefit. She has helped many of us in our programs.

Ima never expects everyone to agree with her. She only shares how implementing the program properly and having proper training helps make the program work. Based on her training and her years of experience AR can and does work. IF you don't like the help then fine. The personal attacks are very hurtful to those who volunteer their time and help. Negative opinions on a site that was meant to help implement AR are not necessary. If you don't like AR express that on a forum where it is appropriate.

If you are having problems with AR then ask questions instead of expressing hate to those trying to assist.

Actually this is a pro AR site designed to help in implementing AR. Yes, people do have a right to voice opposition to AR but that was not the purpose of this board. If you don't want help with AR then don't post here. This is not an I hate AR site.

Ima has been a vital part of this site for a long time. She is trained in AR and has good advice to assist in implementing AR. You don't have to use her advice or even agree with her but stop trashing her for helping!

There is no need to attack someone for not likeing AR, nor is there a reason to attack someone for supporting it. Chat boards are meant to share opinions and ideas (Good and Bad). I guess I look at this site like you do where I can share my good experiences with someone that shares those ideas, yet I also understand others could care less about what I have to say. Ima, let me be the first to tell you that I support your postings here. But for those that feel the need to say AR is terrible, please understand that this site is full of people that enjoy AR as well, so you will not get a lot of support with negativity. You have a right to post as much as anyone else does, but if you do not like it, I find it strange you want to continue to post negative things knowing you are in the minority here. I do not think you deserve to be attacked for your belief's, but I do not see a lot of people supporting your stance either.

So, what may sound one way to us, may be interpreted totally differently. Speaking of AR- there was a question I read about the rules for deleting a test- Does anyone's school allow/disallow it? In my school, only the administrator can delete a test. We have to fill out a form that explains why it needs to be deleted. Is anyone else's school this way? How many tests are usually deleted for a child? Are we talking about one or two or a lot more? We rarely delete a test. I think all of last year, my class of 33 had only four tests deleted. How does that work and does the program of AR allow it? What is their suggestion for deletions? Anyone an 'administrator?' Thanks! Tyler CityTeacher, your setup is just like ours. The only reason we delete a test is if a student is sick or something out of the norm. It would be strange to remove more than 1-3 tests per student per year.
