If a teacher requires students to read a book worth 5 pointsas a class and then take an AR quiz to use as their grade, would it be appropriate for her to also then deduct 3 of those points because the book was read aloud?
Queen of AR No, that is not appropriate. AR books may be read to a student, with a student, or independently by the student. There is not difference in the grade the student can receive. The only difference is that students can read higher level books when the book is read to and with them than if they read it independently.

Marie I concur! It is definitely not appropriate to deduct points when the book is read aloud to the class. On 12/05/11, Queen of AR wrote: > No, that is not appropriate.
