Telling Students About MTV's "It Gets Better"

Should we as educators encourage our students to be aware of the harmful effects bullying can have on a person? I was just watching MTV's special on "It Gets Better." Should we as teachers tell encourage our students to watch this program even though it may be controversial to some students. The show is about of LGBT teens are facing and dealing with harassment. The message is simple: "It gets better. However bad it is now, it gets better." I feel that it is important for students who are being bullied to understand that it does get better and this is just a small factor in life that we can't control or aviod. However, once students are removed from the confines of school it can and will get better for them. Is educating students on the It Gets Better Project a good idea?
