I teach Kindergarten and when we first introduced Bullying all I heard were accounts of "being bullied." It is a very hard concept to teach to younger ones. I hear first graders also accusing others of bullying. We need to make them aware but when do they really understand the concept?

kteacher2 I also teach Kindergarten.

There are the "reports of bullying" that once I question everyone involved -- it boils down to someone not being aware of his/her personal space and the "victim" not using the words we've practiced in class to let someone know they bumped you.

I think you have the key here--teaching the positive values at the early age prevents or lessens the negatives later on.

Becki1st Another factor that should be considered is some children are more "worldly" at an earlier age than others due to their personal experiences and home life. If a child is being bullied by someone else, they can "learn", pick-up, begin that behavior in an effort to gain some control over some area of their lives.
