Well I am high school math teacher, but my two year old son attends a daycare twice a week for some socialization... and to give my MIL a few days to do her own thing... and normally he seems happy there and seems to have a good time. today i picked him up like normal but tonight at bath time i noticed the perfect imprint of a childs mouth and teeth on his left arm above the wrist. I could count every little tooth in this kids head on my baby's arm. I know he must have screamed bloody murder over this. For the bite mark to be this bad this late at night it had to be a HARD bite and I'm furious. I realize that toddlers will do this, and I realize that it could have just as easily have been Lucas who bit someone else, but I'm angry that they didnt tell me about the bite when i picked lucas up from daycare. What is the normal policy on bites? Shouldnt a parent be notified if their child is bitten?

In the end I switched to a home daycare. My provider is licesnsed and accredited (sp?). She is like family my 2 year old is...See More

Paulette I used to work in daycares. Now, I am lucky enough to teach 3rd grade in a school district. Daycare teachers love their students but its not like being at home with your own kids. There are lots of infants and toddlers in a room, often with only a few overworked, under paid adults. Biting happens so much in daycare and kids are crying so much that ...See More

treetoad I am on the board for our local center -it must be reported to the parent of the child bitten as well as a signed copy (3 copies made) to the parent of the child who bit accepting they have been told. three notices and the child is no longer allowed at the day care center and we are very firm on this. It sounds strict but children have to be protec...See More
