Schari Well said montmo! It is a 'mindset' that people need to have about the abilities and resourcefulness of children. Has to do with respecting and trusting that children are capable and thinking human beings.

cathy the easiest thing to remember is art is a PROCESS........... ........NOT a PRODUCT....... the children should be free to create with the materials that the teacher puts in the art center......peroid...

Maria I took an art class and I remember the teacher said that the worst thing that you can do when teaching art is give children material with which they only need to glue and that's all. We need to give them the tools and let their imagination fly, so at the end we can see the marvelous creations they can do.
