I also love Prezi....See MoreUnfortunately, I can't move my neck and I just took a muscle relaxer to help me out (yes, doctor subscribed!) I won't be able to put everything I wan to here today.
Let's see: I LOVE vyew . It's free. It's a great way that I do online tutoring hours before a major exam. I set up one hr and I work with the kids.
I also love Prezi. Beats ppt hands down. TAkes some time to figure it out (but, then, I dont' read directions).
Love animoto, too, but I'm not that experienced with it.

what do yo...See MoreI have been using google sites for my classroom website. It is really easy. After I started they added some cool education templates, but I am not changing mine. I post my study guides, spelling words, vocabulary words and whatever else I can think of. This is my second year using it and I keep think of more things to put on it.
Would love to see your page but the link doesn't work. > > > I have been using google sites for my classroom website. It >> is really easy. My main purpose for the blog is to communicate with parents, to help them see what we are doing in the classroom. The second purpose is to provide a real audience for my students, especially for their writing.
My district is fairly affluent--most families have computer/Internet access. For the one or two who don't, I send paper copies of weekly newsletters and we also view the blog at school.
I send the link to the blog to the families of my student each week, letting them know the blog has been updated. (My district requires weekly emailed newsletters.) I also include my principal when I send out the link, so he can check it out as well.
I'm hoping the link to the blog works. If not, you can cut and paste: [link removed]
You're allowed to post student names and photos on your blog, a public blog that does not require a sign-in??? In our district, we're not allowed to do this due to privacy and custodial issues.
I will also add that this was allowed this year; I got approval from my principal beforehand. Some policies are currently under review. I don't know what will be allowed in the future.

I use Quia since when my district first started with teacher sites that was going to be the ONLY place teachers could use to have them linked from the district page. Of course that lasted about two years, then they switched to EdLine. But I had spent time developing my pages and liked the way that I could have themed pages as I wanted, so felt it was worth it to me to keep my own page and pay for it yearly -- the trade off was I spend less in my classroom to maintain the page.
