Hi everyone. I'm a licensed general education teacher at the elementary level and I'm thinking about getting my masters in special education. Can anyone give me more insight on this? Has anyone else done the same? Which program did you use? I want to make sure that I get a full endorsement so that I would be certified to teach in a special education classroom. Sorry if these all seem like silly questions, I just have a new special education student that spends half the day with my gen. ed. class and I've been inspired to find out more. Thanks for your help! :)

SPED Teacher I'm in the Special Ed. Masters Program at GCU (online). I'm certified in FL, but did not have the classes for NY to accept my certification.

You would need to check with your state's requirements about adding Special Ed. to your existing certificate, but GCU has been a reasonable and productive program for me. I take one class a term which...See More
