Hi there. I contracted with my school for about 7 years before I was employed fulltime. I provided individual and group counseling. Once I was hired, I wanted to reach the masses, so I proposed a Classroom Guidance special. So I see all classes each week for 30 minutes for grades K-3. When it is great, it is great and I love getting to know all the kids. However, some classes are better behaved than others and I find I am so stressed out to the point of tightness in my chest. Another thing that I really am ashamed of is that when the kids do not obey my directions (more than once) sometimes I have to end up raising my voice and I absolutely hate that. I feel I am not being authentic when I resort to frustration and using a loud voice. This is my third year at classroom guidance (8 classes for 4 days and 6 classes on one day). I am thinking of throwing in the towel and get a job that I can do individual, family, and group sessions. Any suggestions?
