I am needing advice on how to structure my middle school ELA classroom. I have each class for 50 minutes. I am responsible for teaching SAT words along with grammar and writing. Usually, I start out each class with a DOL (proofreading) activity then lead into my vocabulary unit study, which I spend two weeks on. I'm having a difficult time managing my grammar and writing. I find myself spending more time on grammar rather than writing.

Any advice on how to better structure my day?

sms78 It has been highly encouraged by our dept. head to have students come in at the beginning of class and do a proofreading activity (DOL) the first 5-7 minutes of class.
