I have a former student who works for a textbook publisher. She mentioned that while looking at the competition's samples, there were reading passages where Spanish was mixed into the English sentences. She acknowledged that this was very common in speech in some areas of the US but wondered if this should be something to avoid in textbooks or not. Her primary concern is for those students who do not speak Spanish and how helpful this would be.

Any thoughts?
