Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

Hi All,

I am new to Teachers.Net. I had to send a post regarding ESL teachers' pay. I started where so many of you have been-part-time and/or multiple jobs. I was fortunate to find a full-time job in an Intensive English program at a local university(in the '90's). Guess what? I was paid $29,000 a year. I found out the best paying ESL jobs are teaching in the public school systems, so I began working for the city school system. I think is ridiculous for trained professionals to be paid so little, but in the present economy, I am fortunate to have a job.91 vocational teachers in our system lost their jobs yesterday. I want to encourage you-hang in for as long as you can. Consider working abroad if you can. ESL/EFL will always be in demand-so just be flexible and you will find a job with a living wage.
