Hi, I have a question about how you deal with math tests. Do you inform parents of upcoming math tests? I've found that if students just take the test as a natural outgrowth of our work on a chapter, it goes well UNLESS a student does poorly, then there might be a parental questions like, "Why didn't we know there was a math test?" Do you just seemlessly slip the test in at the end of a chapter (after class review) or do you make a bigger deal of it and send parents advanced notification and give student study time at home?
LS I have the students write it in their planner a few days in advance and I send home a chapter review from the book.

Sean I have my students write it down in their homework planner as soon as I know exactly when the test will be given - usually several days in advance. I also post it on my class website calendar.
