John I agree. We teach handwriting but not writing skills enough in younger grades. I think they key is teaching them how to write a hook.

TXTeacher586 I find clustering is especially helpful when students are trying to write research papers, but it also works for students having difficulty putting anything down on their papers for personal narrative or even expository essays.
