Hi, I have never posted here, but I need some help. I am a leave replacement 6th Grade teacher on Long Island in New York. I am the only 6th Grade teacher in my school. I need to find a health curriculum guide for 6th grade in New York State. Does anyone know where I can turn. Any good sites or other chatboards I should know about. TIA -Jason
It's an easy test, don't worry. My background was in behavioral science, but I'd always been interested in health/fitness/nutrition. I borrowed a friends text from her Level 2 credential health class, and reviewed that. I ordered the Single Subject Assessment Manual for Health (volume 3) from National Evaluation Systems/CCTC, and based my review on that. It discusses test content, and has a few sample questions. It's based on the SSAT. I do not believe they have a CSET test for the health exam yet, but I may be wrong. Check the state web site (Calif. Commission on Teacher Credentialing) for more info.
Questions I recall are: -short essay question on pregnancy nutrition -short essay on developing an appropriate/comprehensive P.E. progam -lots of mult. choice on society health/disease. Know stats/facts
Sorry, that's all I can recall. It's been a few years.
Good luck :)

What's the term used for a person who is HIV+, not on any medication, with an undetectable viral load. I'm just looking for a serious answer--a term used by the health profession to describe this.

One of the best websites that I have found is pecentral. It has wonderful ideas about lesson plans and it has thousands of activities that you can choose from. Good Luck in your teaching.
Do you have other credentials than health? Health is
usually incorporated into science or p.e.
