I have taught in privet schools and therefore have a little more freedom in products used in my classroom. I think teachers after a while knows what works and what does not. I started teaching using a program for phonics called Letterland. When I changed schools the program was left at the old school. We had a new program to use so I decided to use it. All I can say is that I was never more disappointed with such a great new program. It had a lot of pluses but it could not produce the readers and spellers that Letterland did. I got permission to use it in my new school. The phonics program is also one of several Dr. Sally Shaywitz recommends in her book "Overcoming Dyslexia".
